On October 17th join the Canadian Institute for Advanced Research (CIFAR) as three authors gather at UBC Vancouver to share insights into questions presented in their new book, Social Resilience in the Age of Neoliberalism.
A team of interdisciplinary researchers from political science, sociology, cultural analysis, epidemiology and more, set out to identify the most important social changes over the last 30 years, to better understand what makes certain communities and individuals resilient and able to thrive amidst a changing society.
What cultural resources or collective imaginaries contribute to resilience?
How has neoliberalism affected multicultural ideals in Canada?
How well can communities foster healthy lives at the local level?
October 17th, 3 to 5 pm
