MDI Principal Investigator Dr. Kim Schonert-Reichl has been nominated for a YWCA Women of Distinction award. In addition to this honour, Kim is able to win a $10,000 donation from Scotiabank for the YWCA through the Connecting the Community Award. This award is to be allocated toward the program area of each Women of Distinction nominee’s choice. There are five program areas in total and Kim is campaigning for Healthy Choices for Youth.
From Thursday, April 19 to Tuesday, May 22, the public can cast their votes for their favourite program area of choice. Voters can vote once every 24 hours per computer. The voting site will close on Tuesday, May 22 at noon. To vote, please visit the Connecting the Community Award voting site.
The program area with the most votes receives the Connecting the Community Award and Scotiabank will donate $10,000 to the YWCA to support that program area.
The Women of Distinction Awards, including the announcement of the winner of the Connecting the Community Award, are on Thursday, May 24, 2012. More information about the YWCA Women of Distinction Awards as well as the Connecting the Community Award is available on the YWCA Women of Distinction website.
